What's in your Kona coffee? The short answer is if you bought it at Roast it is 100% Kona beans, purchased by us farm direct, and roasted in store.
Kona has long been a favorite of ours, and looking for the best of the Kona district each year is a ritual for us.
You may have seen recent some of the recent news about Kona coffee. Farmers in the Kona district are filing law suits against several companies selling Kona without disclosing what is really in the bag (Take a look here at this food and wine story if you want to learn more).
The truth is most bags of Kona you see in a store have less than 30% Kona beans (in some cases less than 10%) and are mixed as a blend with other lower quality beans. This is why you can find low cost bags of "Kona" in grocery stores.
Rest assured if you buy Kona from Roast we have sourced the beans directly from Hawaii, roasted them in store, and present to you as 100% Kona. If you have any questions please stop in, call, or email us (email@example.com).
